WELCOME to our 200 year old stone farm home on our 100 acre working family farm. Enjoy the cheerfully decorated, comfortable, air-conditioned family size rooms. Treat yourself to our scrumptious home-cooked country breakfast. Delight in gathering eggs from the hen house, feeding the goats and snuggling with a kitten. Conveniently located between Lancaster attractions and Hershey Chocolate World.

Merv, Angie, Ben, Philip and Katrina Shenk welcome you to share their large farmhouse. Our home has been in the Shenk family for over 70 years. It boasts 6 guest rooms, central air-conditioning, new windows, deep windowsills, clock radios and comfortable beds. Private and semi-private baths available.

The second floor has three nicely furnished, spacious rooms with 9 foot ceilings and beds for 4 people plus room for 1 or 2 extra people. One room has a private bath in the room while the other two rooms share the bath down the hall. The third floor has three cozy and stenciled rooms with exposed stone walls and slanted ceilings and beds for 4 people. There are 1 and ˝ bathrooms shared on the third floor and also a play area and a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, dishes, table and chairs.

Make yourselves at home in the living room with plenty of books, magazines, games and tourist information available. We can help you plan your stay while in the area. Our children may even show off how to pedal the player piano.

A delicious farmer’s breakfast is served family style daily at 8:00 a.m. in the dining room. Treat yourself to a sample menu: cheesy scrambled eggs, sausage, toast with apple butter, shoofly cake, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice, milk and cereal. Or it might be blueberry pancakes, ham, and baked oatmeal or pumpkin muffins or rhubarb bread pudding….

Just behind the house is a playground with swing set, climbing rocks and a tube slide. We have croquette, volleyball and tennis sets available and a picnic area in the shade or up on the deck. There is a rope swing in the straw barn and a large paved driveway for pedal tractors and bikes.

After breakfast we might load up on the wagon for a hayride around the celery field or we may go down to the covered bridge and see the cows and sheep grazing in the meadow. Bring your chore clothes along if you like to help feed the chickens and gather some fresh brown eggs. You can feed, water and pet the goats, cats and kittens. Kindly leave all of our pets outside. We can show you the celery field and share with you all about the work involved in growing and producing Lancaster County celery hearts: Everything from seeding beds in April, transplanting in June & July and harvesting and trenching the crop September through January.

There are plenty of great restaurants and stores in the neighboring towns. Be sure to stay several days to enjoy all of the fun activities in our area like Sight and Sound Theaters, Strasburg Rail Road, Roots and Central Farmers Market, Wilbur and Hershey Chocolate Factories, Dutch Wonderland and more.
